fantastic book and fantastic photographs. 'fashion shots' of Warhol & his crew alternated with photos of demonstrations and snaps of daily life in NYC at the time; the Factory's hedonistic 'made up' world vs the Real world, painting a somewhat through portrait of the time. highly recommended
What a wonderful curious three days for Fink who goes on to disparage Warhol in the introduction.
The photographs in this book are very good, and I would give those five stars, but the introduction by Fink sort of ruins the book for me. Okay, I get it, he doesn't like Warhol, Andy didn't advance communism, like Larry, so his was a life wasted. But then, in Andy's defense, his actions didn't lead to the death of millions, which is a whole lot better than what you can say for many of the political zealots Mr. Fink (I guess) adores. Guess that's just my take on the intro, but at the very least, it is a bitter read. Again, lovely photos though, and well printed, plus the price on Amazon is great, cheap enough even for the unsuccessful capitalists amongst us.

It's fine. You think, with all the emphasis on the Warhol photos, that would be the majority of the book. It's not. Not by a long shot. Good photography. Didn't really care for how much it jumped around; continuity is not even given a thought. Flipping to the end to find out where/when a photo was taken was a bit annoying, considering the previously mentioned lack of continuity. But again, the pictures are good.
